Why I’m Starting a Blog Again In 2026

In the early 2000s I was in my 20s and a stay-at-home mom. Today’s menopause brain prevents me from remembering HOW I discovered blogs, but they were a huge source of connection to me back then. It was a hobby and a group of friends all at the same time.

Going to a blog was like visiting a friend’s house. We all used Blogger/Blogspot and designed our blogs using templates you could buy for $10-20 and install yourself. Which was the best…kinda like seeing how each of us decorated our homes.

What often started as a comment on someone’s blog led to conversations, which led to friendships. Slowly, like connecting loops on a paper chain, introductions to other bloggers were made and communities were born.

And that’s what I hope to create here at The Nested Bluff. Today my kiddos are grown and I’ve been promoted to Mimi. I’m in my 50s, and while the topics may have evolved from potty training to menopause, the heart is the same. Creating community for women fuels me.

I imagine TNB starting as a blog and blooming into a real community of women. One day we may talk about something meaningful and deep. Another day it may be a recipe. Or something I found and wanna tell you about.

Sure, it may be a bit weird to start a blog in 2026. I don’t know exactly what this will become. But I’m glad to be writing again, and I trust the women of this community to find their way here.

So if that’s you, I’ll meet you in the comments.

xo, Kim
